The Change Manager – how to change yourself and others
(English) The Change Manager offers a do-it-yourself approach to change on the individual level. Tools for transforming yourself and others are the focus of this book.
Klaus Doppler is a well-known German business consultant and author of several books on change management. In his 2003 book “Der Change Manager – Sich selbst und andere verändern – und trotzdem bleiben, wer man ist” he shifts his perspective from the organizational to the personal level.
Instead of relying heavily on theory, Doppler´s book presents the readers with practical tools they can use to manage their own change processes. However, the book is not a self-improvement book in the classical sense. By applying ideas from business management to personal transformation efforts, the main target of the book still seems to be professionals in business or public organizations. The book – for instance – includes tutorials on self-marketing and a template on developing a user´s guide on your personality.
Doppler´s profound practical experience and his no-frills approach make it a worthwhile read for people interested in individual change, that offers insight on the mechanisms and tools of such a process.
