Navigating Career Transitions

(English) Constantly Changing job requirements have become a major feature of our work environment. Watkins book shows how to deal with them.

In the contemporary work environment individuals deal constantly with change. Careers depend on how flexible and adaptable people are in those situations. The transition expert and ex-business school professor Michael Watkins shows tactics and strategies on successfully managing career change in his book “Your Next Move: The Leader’s Guide to Successfully Navigating Major Career Transitions”.
Building on case studies and his own experience, the book is designed to help professionals handle career transitions like: promotion, entering a new organization, going abroad, realignment, turnaround management, or going international.
Watkins main focus is on showing his readers how to ensure a steady climb up the career ladder, while avoiding the trials and tribulations that can occur in transition phases. The chapters start with short real-life examples, and conclude with a checklist of questions to implement and think about when facing transition situations.
