Leading organisational change towards sustainability
(English) This change management guide shows how to incorporate sustainable change successfully in all types of organisations.
Building upon the author’s triennial research via case studies in business and government, the book provides well-grounded advice on how to install sustainability-based organisational change strategies.
Bob Doppelt experienced best practice examples in companies such as Chiquita, IKEA, Nike or Starbucks as well as change implementation processes in the Dutch national government and the local government of Santa Monica, California.
He states that in order to prepare for climate change, de-carbonisation and resource-saving, organisations have to change their entire thinking, their corporate culture or otherwise, the initiatives will quickly fail. The author identifies two organisational key factors: Transforming the governance system and good leadership, offering seven corresponding intervention tools to the reader.
