Conference: Climate Change and the Media
(English) The German public broadcaster Deutsche Welle is holding an international conference on climate change from June 21st to 23rd 2010.
Most scientists agree that an increase of 2 degrees Celsius globally, would have fatal consequences for our planet. Therefore, the issue of global warming should be a main priority of public and private organizations. The Deutsche Welle is holding an conference on the question of climate change and the media.
To battle the climate change a shift in attitude, behaviour, and lifestyle of our society is deemed necessary. Media broadcast can help shaping awareness for these issues. “Deutsche Welle Global Media Forum 2010″ will address this question and what role the media can play in facilitating this process.
The conference joins media producers, users, scientists, policy makers and representatives from international, grassroots and non-governmental organizations to discuss individual and collective solutions to the climate challenge. Strategies and incentives to achieve a true sustainable society will be illustrated by experts, with the role of the media in this process as a main focus of the conference.
